The reality of dementia in lockdown

My brilliant dad

The deterioration in our dads condition since lockdown has been heartbreaking. I have been lucky enough to visit him in his care home a couple of times in the last few weeks but sadly the months of no contact have been damaging. He now barely speaks, has forgotten how to play his beloved guitar and he seems so confused and has a sad look in his eyes. He has frontal temporal dementia and Alzheimer’s, he needed the constant of family visits. Instead he became a prisoner, tragic.
