My Father has Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer's. He went into hospital after a fall during lockdown and really should have been discharged straight into a nursing home because that was the level of care he needed. At the time the care home we wanted to put him in was only allowing one half an hour visit every week and it was just too painful a prospect for my Mother as we all agreed that if that happened he would decline so we spent around £2800 per week on 24 hour care at home to avoid it.
