I lost my dad on Sunday morning. He passed away in his sleep but thanks to his nurse I got to the nursing home before the undertaker and was able to hold his hand and give him a kiss for the first time in 7 months but heartbreakingly too late for him. Dad had Alzheimer’s and heart failure but was still very much aware of everything. His motivation in life was to keep his family together after losing our mam early. His nurses and carers were loving and kind but I can’t bear that he was without us
