The impact of coronavirus has been shattering for families affected by dementia. Urgent action must be taken to better protect people ahead of the winter.

The reality of being unable to have relatives visit residents is just heart-breaking! These residents are in the latter years of life and live for the contact they have left with their loved ones. Taking contact away completely is, in my opinion, cruel and unnecessary. Risks could be minimised for both residents and relatives but for those that are desperate to see and have contact with each other, then nursing homes should be allowed to arrange this.
