The impact of coronavirus has been shattering for families affected by dementia. Urgent action must be taken to better protect people ahead of the winter.

our mother has Vascular Dementia and has been in an amazing care home for 7 years - we are allowed to see her outside or in a visiting room through glass. ~Unfortunately it is really difficult to engage her in these visits as she doesn't understand what we are saying and she does not speak much - at our last visit she tried to get through the glass to reach us. We are convinced that if we could hold her hand and hug her she would benefit from our visits rather than being distressed by them.
